Rajasthan / Dholpur : Old bridge built on Chambal submerged

In Rajasthan, an old bridge on National Highway No. 3 has been submerged in water after the Chambal river flowed 12 meters above the danger mark.
14 villages situated on its banks have also been submerged due to increase in the inflow of water in the Chambal river during good monsoon rains. Chambal is flowing 12 meters above the danger mark after water has been drained from Kota barrage.
The gauge of Chambal has reached 143 meters instead of the danger mark of 130 79. The old road bridge on Chambal river has also been submerged. The connectivity of a dozen villages has been cut, while water has come inside the cremation ground situated on the banks of Chambal. Police administration is monitoring the situation and the affected people are being shifted to a safe place.
