Anurag Thakur to present National Youth Award to 22 awardees

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur will present the National Youth Awards 2017-18 and 2018-19 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. On the occasion of International Youth Day 2021, ten winning young entrepreneur teams of Agri-Entrepreneurship-related SOLVED Challenge 2021 (Volunteer Enterprise Development Driven by Social Objectives) were presented by Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik. will be rewarded.

A total of 22 National Youth Awards will be given in individual and organization categories. A total of 14 awards will be given for the National Youth Awards (NYA) 2017-18, which includes 10 awards in individual category and 4 awards in organization category. A total of 8 awards will be given for the National Youth Awards (NYA) 2018-19, which includes 7 awards in individual category and 1 award in organization category. Under this, the person and organization receiving the award will be given a medal, a certificate and cash amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- and Rs. 3,00,000/- respectively.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Department of Youth Affairs recognizes individuals (aged between 15-29 years) and organizations for outstanding work and contribution in various areas of development and social service such as health, promotion of human rights, active citizenship, community service, etc. Provides National Youth Award (NYA).

The objective of these awards is to motivate the youth to achieve excellence in the field of national development and social service, to encourage the youth to develop a sense of responsibility towards the community and in this order in their individual capacity as a good citizen. To reform and recognize the excellent work done by voluntary organizations working with youth for national development including social service.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with United Nations Volunteers and the United Nations Development Programme, launched an initiative to identify and nurture innovative, youth-led entrepreneurial options across the country’s agri-food value chain in December 2020 in rural, sub-urban and launched the SOLVED Challenge for the youth of urban India. For this, more than 850 youth from across the country applied and after several rounds of competitions and training, 10 winners emerged from different states including Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Gujarat.
