The newly created posts include 10 posts of Assistant Director for Olympians, five posts of Deputy Director for medal winners and three posts of Joint Director for Olympic Games gold medalists, he said.
The Chief Minister also said that a grand reception of state athletes participating in Tokyo Olympics 2020 would be held at the City Convention Center this month and the respective cash prizes and job placement orders would be handed over to the remaining Olympians on the occasion. He said that the State Government is serious about developing the field of sports and games, as it plays a major role in inculcating good discipline and manners among the youth.
Biren said, since the government is making a lot of efforts to eliminate the menace of drugs from the state, it is imperative to encourage the youth, create interest in sports and prevent their mind from getting addicted to drugs.
He took pride in the stellar performance and achievements of the state athletes in the recent Tokyo Olympics and said that the young and talented Olympians would be a source of inspiration among the youth of the state.
