Manpreet, Mandeep, Varun Kumar and Hardik received a grand welcome on their arrival in Jalandhar

Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Varun Kumar and Hardik Singh, captains of the Indian men’s hockey team, which created history after 41 years by winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, were accorded a rousing welcome by showering flowers on their arrival in Jalandhar in the afternoon.

When three players Captain Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Varun from village Mithapur reached their village, villagers were seen dancing on the beat of drum in the village. The trio paid obeisance at the Gurdwara Sahib in their native village Mithapur. After this, after reaching the hockey ground of the village, they bowed there. Under the leadership of MLA Pargat Singh, people welcomed these players. Pargat Singh is also from Mithapur village. Party preparations are also being made for them late in the evening. In which the former Olympians will also be present along with the city’s celebrities and sportspersons. Let us tell you that Captain Manpreet Singh is from Mithapur village and this village has been considered as a hockey stronghold for years.

On the other hand, Rupinder Pal Singh, player of the Indian hockey team, which won bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in Faridkot, received a warm welcome when he reached the house. Rupinder’s parents, brother-in-law, family members and friends welcomed him by dancing and singing to the beat of the dhol.
