Top seed Daniil Medvedev enters semi-finals of Toronto tournament
Top seed Daniil Medvedev of Russia defeated seventh seed Hubert Hurkaz of Poland to reach the semi-finals of the National Bank Open tennis tournament.
Medvedev won the quarterfinals 2-6, 7-6, 7-6.
In the semi-finals, Medvedev will face American John Isner, who defeated 11th seed Gael Monfils of France 7-6, 6-4.
Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, seeded third, will face qualifier Riley Opelka of America in another semi-final. Tsitsipas beat 6th seed Kaspar Rudd of Norway 6-1, 6-4 while Opelka beat 10th seed Roberto Batista Agut of Spain 6-3, 7-6.
