Uttarakhand / Dehradun : DM inspected the disaster affected areas

Due to the heavy rains in the district since the last few days, the incidents of water level rise, landslides and landslides have increased in the district, keeping this in view, District Administration Dr. R. Instructions have been given to provide immediate relief and to conduct immediate relief work in the affected areas. Today, on the information that some part of Jakhan river bridge built on Rishikesh-Dehradun link road in Ranipokhari district was damaged, District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar reached the spot and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials. He directed the officers of the Police Department to deploy 24 hours police personnel on both sides of the bridge, put up warning boards and make alternate arrangements for the movement of National Highway and PWD officials. He directed to send vehicles coming from Dehradun to Rishikesh on Bhaniyawala to Haridwar-Nepali Farm route and those coming from Rishikesh to Dehradun via Nataraj Chowk via Nepali Farm-Dehradun route. Apart from this, keeping in view the safety of the general public, he instructed the police department not to allow any kind of movement on the bridge while keeping a check.
Earlier, District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar took stock of the damage in Khairimansingh, Bandawala after on-site inspection of the affected area on the information of flooding, flooding of the river due to increase in the water level of the river. During this, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand Government Pushkar Singh Dhami, Local Vidyalaya Umesh Sharma Kau also inspected the affected area and directed the District Magistrate and the officers of the working organization Lonvi to repair the damaged road at the earliest and smooth the movement.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate gave instructions to the officials of the PWD and the Revenue Department to estimate the damaged roads and property of the local people in Khairiman Singh. He urged all the officers to take immediate cognizance of the information of divine calamity and take necessary action. The District Magistrate directed to take special vigilance on late night movement during rainy season in hilly areas, to displace people living on the banks of the river, to displace the people living on the banks of the river to a safe place. Directed the officers of the concerned departments.
During the inspection, local public representatives and regional people including Deputy Collector Sadar Gopal Ram Binwal, Tehsildar Sadar Dayaram, LND, Irrigation Department officials were present and during the inspection in Ranipokhari, former MLA Hira Singh Bisht, Deputy Collector Doiwala Laxmiraj Chauhan, Chief Engineer of National Highways were present. Hari Om Sharma, police and local public representatives and local people, including officials of LND were present.
