When the trolley bag was opened, a mutilated body of a person aged about 35-37 years was found in the bag. He could not be identified due to decomposition of the body. A tattoo written “Naveen” was found on the right hand of the dead body. He was also wearing a steel kada in his right hand. Through the tattoo, the police identified the deceased as 24-year-old Naveen, from Deoli village, and on August 12, his wife Muskan lodged a missing complaint with the Neb Sarai police station. He had told that Naveen has been missing since August 8. For further investigation, the police reached the given address in Delhi Deoli village but Muskan could not be found there. When the police team did a local investigation, it was found that she had vacated the rented room a few days ago. The police team contacted the landlord Pradeep. He told that Muskan was on rent for the last one and a half months and on August 11, she suddenly vacated the room and went to some unknown place.

Muskan’s neighbor revealed that Muskan was living there with her mother and her two-year-old daughter. It was also learned that a boy with glasses often appeared with a smile, but no one could name his name. It was also learned that a night before leaving the rented room, there was a fight in Muskaan’s room. The police team obtained Muskan’s mobile number in questioning the local people and obtained the location of her mobile phone. His mobile phone was working in Delhi’s Khanpur village. The police team finally traced her home in Delhi’s Khanpur village, where Muskan lived with her mother Meenu and her two-year-old daughter. She was asked about the tattoo of “Naveen” on Naveen’s right arm as the confirmation of the tattoo was very important to identify the dead body. Muskan tried to mislead the investigation by denying the existence of any such tattoo. Later, Naveen’s brother Sandeep confirmed the tattoo.

Initially Muskan tried to mislead the investigation. He told that Naveen is a resident of Dakshin Puri in Delhi. She is in a relationship with Naveen for the last 4-5 years and they have a two-year-old daughter from this relationship. They were living separately for the last seven months and she started living with her mother Meenu in Deoli Khanpur. On the night of August 7 at around 11:30, Naveen came to his room in an intoxicated state and started quarreling with him. Naveen hit Muskaan which started bleeding from his mouth and he made a PCR call. The PCR van came and she along with her mother went to AIIMS Trauma for medical examination. When she returned to her room, Naveen was already gone.

He further told that the next day Naveen’s brother Sandeep asked him that Naveen had not reached home since last night. After this, he lodged a missing report at the police station Neb Sarai in South Delhi. The police team checked his mobile phone. The police team asked why he informed about Naveen’s disappearance with a delay of five days. On the night of August 7, 2021, when the police examined the PCR call records of Thana Neb Sarai, it was found that Muskan had made a PCR call regarding a quarrel with her husband, but there was no medical examination of Muskan. Apart from this, the team immediately obtained the call record of his mobile phone. It came to know from him that Muskan was in constant contact with a person named Jamal.

The team checked Jamal’s picture from his mobile phone. His appearance was similar to that of the boy told by his neighbor of Deoli village. It was learned that that night Jamal was at Muskan’s room in Deoli village. It was further learned that he had also gone to Sukhdev Vihar drain on August 8 at 8:23 pm. Eventually Muskan revealed that she was at his room with Jamal on the night of 7 August. Suddenly her husband Naveen came there and got annoyed by Jamal’s presence. He hit her, injuring her lip. Two of Jamal’s friends, Vivek and Koshlendar, were standing outside who entered the room after hearing the argument. He further reveals that Jamal pressed Naveen’s mouth, Vivek held his hand and he held Naveen’s feet. After this, Kaushalendra repeatedly stabbed Naveen’s neck with a knife.

Muskan was arrested after the murder mystery was solved. He further gave clues that after killing Naveen, Jamal washed Naveen’s body in the washroom and he cleaned the blood from the room. He further revealed that in the morning Jamal called one of his friend Rajpal to dispose of Naveen’s body. The blood-stained clothes of Naveen, Jamal and their accomplices were thrown into a drain in Chirag Delhi. Jamal had brought a trolley bag from his house. Naveen’s body was packed in a bag and thrown from an auto in the drain of Sukhdev Vihar. After this the police arrested Vivek, Jamal, Kaushalendra, Vishal, Rajkumar and Meenu.
