Private liquor shops will be closed in Delhi from October 1

Private liquor shops are going to be closed in Delhi from October. From October 1 to November 16, liquor will be sold only in government shops for 47 days. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has told that under the new excise policy, the process of allotment of licenses has been completed by dividing Delhi into 32 zones. Now shops will be opened in Delhi from November 17 under the new excise policy. During this, between October 1 and November 16, liquor will be sold only at government shops.

On the shortage during this period, Sisodia said that this will be a transition period. In such a situation, if there is a sale in government shops, then there will be no problem. At present there are more than 720 liquor shops in Delhi. It has 260 private and 460 government shops. There are 88 such shops in which only country liquor is sold. According to the new excise policy, after the allocation of licenses in all 32 zones, the government will not issue the licenses of private liquor shops which were extended till September 30. Due to this, all 260 liquor shops will be closed from October 1. Instead, the licensees issued under the new excise policy will open shops under the new excise policies from November 17.
