Uttarakhand : Took an important meeting to increase air services

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held an important meeting with the Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Tuesday from the Secretariat through virtual medium to increase air services in Uttarakhand.

On this occasion, the Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said that the new terminal at Jolly Grant, Dehradun would be inaugurated on 07 October along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Dehradun-Pantnagar-Pithoragarh-Pantnagar-Dehradun air service will also be flagged off during the Heli Summit. This service will be provided by Pawan Hans. Dehradun-Pithoragarh heli service will be approved soon. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said that Dehradun-Srinagar-Dehradun, Dehradun-Gauchar-Dehradun, Haldwani-Haridwar Haldwani, Pantnagar-Pithoragarh-Pantnagar, Chinyalisaur- Sahastradhara-Chinyaliyod, Gauchar-Sahastradhara under the flight in Uttarakhand , Haldwani – Dharchula – Haldwani and Gauchar – Sahastradhara – Gauchar Heli services have been approved. He said that out of the 13 heliports that have been identified for Uttarakhand, the DPRs of 11 have been prepared. DPR of Mussoorie Heliport will also be ready soon. The connectivity of cities with Jolly Grant airport will be increased further. The process of Pantnagar Greenfield Airport will be further expedited. He suggested that VAT charges are higher on ATF in Uttarakhand, if this charge is reduced, then air connectivity in the state will increase faster and revenue will also increase.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia for these gifts given to Uttarakhand in the field of air connectivity. On the acceptance of Dehradun-Pithoragarh heli service, he said that with the commencement of this service, it would prove to be a milestone for the development of the Pithoragarh border area. This heli service was demanded by the Chief Minister even before the Central Government. The Chief Minister said that I am overwhelmed by the speed with which the Civil Aviation Minister took the decision and implemented it. With the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and with the cooperation of the Central Government, the connectivity sector is developing rapidly in the state. The Chief Minister said that out of the 13 identified heliports in the state, the tender process is in progress on 08, which will be completed by October 20. Efforts are being made to complete all these works in this financial year. On July 11, 2021, during the Chief Minister’s meeting with the Civil Aviation Minister, the issue of costly passengers of Pawan Hans helicopter service was raised. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for resolving it soon and reducing the fare from Dehradun to Srinagar by 42 percent and from Dehradun to Gauchar by 50 percent. On this occasion Secretary Civil Aviation Shri Dilip Jawalkar, Additional Secretary Smt. Swati S. Bhadauria was also present.
