Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : The demand for inclusion in the Municipal Corporation kept fast

The residents of the colony observed a one-day fast for three-point demands, including the inclusion of Krishnanagar Colony and IDPL in the Municipal Corporation. Taking out a rally in the city, staged a sit-in demonstration near the Gandhi pillar at Triveni Ghat. During this, slogans were raised against the local MLA.
On Sunday, under the banner of Jankalyan Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, people of Krishnanagar Colony gathered in front of Lonvi Guest House on Haridwar Road. From here, raising slogans in the form of a procession, Gandhi reached the pillar at Trivenighat and sat on a dharna. Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram kept fast while singing bhajans to the government representatives. The people staging a sit-in said that about 15 thousand families are occupied in Krishnanagar Colony for five decades, but are deprived of basic facilities. Due to not joining the Municipal Corporation, the benefit of the welfare scheme of the Central and State Government is also not being received. The patron of the committee, Dr. BN Tiwari, accused the regional MLA of neglecting the colony. In one voice, there was a demand to include Krishnanagar Colony in the Municipal Corporation, to give ownership rights to the families occupied in the colony and to restore basic facilities like roads, health, sanitation.
