Uttar Pradesh / Gorakhpur : 3 people arrested for lynching a liquor vendor in Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur Police has arrested three persons for allegedly lynching a salesman of a liquor shop over a dispute. Senior Superintendent of Police, Gorakhpur, said that the three accused were arrested on Saturday.
Manish Prajapati was assaulted by more than 14-15 miscreants over bill payment at his liquor shop in Ramgarh Tal police station area on Thursday night. He died on the way to the hospital.
The SSP said, following the incident, a case was registered against around 15 people under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 302 (murder), 147 (punishment for rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504. (intentionally insulting).
The arrested people have been identified as Yuvraj Pandey alias Ekansh Pandey, Deepu Tiwari and Abhishek Kashyap. All of them are residents of Singhadiya of Gorakhpur. The SSP said that efforts are on to nab the other miscreants.
In fact, on Thursday night, some people reached the model liquor shop and ordered liquor and there was an argument over the delay in serving breakfast and payment. After which he brutally beat up the salesman.
Police identified the accused on the basis of CCTV footage, in which five to six miscreants were seen beating Manish Prajapati and repeatedly beating him with sticks. When another employee Raghu came to the rescue of the victim, he was also beaten up and is in the hospital. Gupta was staying at the hotel with his two friends.
