Uttarakhand : National Security Act implemented in the state

The government has become alert in Uttarakhand, so that there should be no major incident before the elections, the government has implemented the National Security Act (NSA) in the state for the next three months. For the next 3 months, the right to impose NSA on the culprits on any major incident has been given, it is not yet clear whether the state government had received any input for this decision in the state.

All the District Magistrates can exercise the powers conferred by sub-section 2 of this section 3 for the period from 1st October 2021 to 31st December 2021. Let us inform that earlier in Uttarakhand this law was implemented in the state movement.

However, the government has said in its order that since incidents of violence have taken place in some districts of Uttarakhand in the past and as a reaction to them, such incidents have happened in other parts of the state and similar incidents are likely to happen in other parts of the state as well. AND WHEREAS the anti-social elements are participating in activities prejudicial to the security of the State, public order and maintenance of supplies and services to the community, and, having regard to the prevailing and likely exigencies in Uttarakhand, this resolution of the State Government It has happened that it is necessary to do so.

Therefore, now the Governor, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 3 of the National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act No. 65 of 1980), read with section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (Central Act No. 10 of 1897) By making partial modification of Uttarakhand Government’s Government Notification No. 799 / XX-5/21/04/RSSCA/2003 dated June 04, 2021, all the District Magistrates of the State of Uttarakhand, dated: 01 October, 2021 for three months i.e. 31 December, empowered to exercise the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the said Act for a further period of 2021.
