Uttarakhand / Vikasnagar : BJYM demanded a ban on drug trade
The workers of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha submitted a memorandum to the Tehsil administration demanding a check on the growing drug trade in the Pachhwadoon area. Activists told that drug dealers continue to addict even minor children to drugs.
Under the leadership of BJYMO District General Secretary Chirag Guleria, the workers who reached the Tehsil Headquarters on Monday said that large quantities of narcotics are being brought from Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in Pachhwadun. Drug dealers are also targeting minor students studying in educational institutions. Along with this, the working class is also falling in the grip of drugs. He said that due to the consumption of intoxicants, along with the younger generation going towards darkness, it is also having a bad effect on the society. Day by day youth are becoming victims of criminal activities and accidents. It is alleged that even banned medicines are being sold indiscriminately at the medical stores of the area. The sale of narcotics is also happening indiscriminately around the educational institutions. BJYM workers have submitted a memorandum to the tehsil administration and demanded that appropriate action be taken for the prevention of drugs. Shubham Garg, Divya Rana, Sandeep Singh Thakur, Ashish Kothari, Mohd. Hassan, Shubham, Vicky, Sahil Chaudhary, Ashwin Chauhan, Bunty Choudhary etc. were included.
