India becomes world’s most preferred investment destination : Seth
Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth said today that India, which was among the five weakest economies in the world in 2013, has become the world’s most preferred investment destination in 2021 and has a long way to go.
Speaking at an event organized by FICCI, Mr. Seth said that the global investor community is looking towards India as it has become the most preferred investment destination in the world. India has not only become a preferred investment destination but has also emerged as a sustainable supply chain. This has become possible due to the structural reforms undertaken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the focus of Shri Modi on holistic development.
He said that foreign investors choose India because the Indian economy promises high returns. Describing Jan Dhan, Aadhar and Mobile as game changers, he said that it has not only helped in reaching the target groups in weak economy during the pandemic but this work is being done for the last seven years. From PM Kisan Yojana, PM Awas Yojana to Jan Jeevap Mission and access to electricity for all have been realized.
He said that the government has dealt with many challenges through reforms. The reforms made in the last 18 months during the pandemic have not only helped in reducing the impact of the pandemic but have also helped the economy grow faster.
