Priyanka Gandhi’s custody continues in UP, tweets to Modi
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is in police custody even after 28 hours without being formally arrested. He has tweeted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his detention. He tweeted in Hindi, Modi ji, your government has kept me in custody for 28 hours without any order or FIR. But those who crushed the farmers have not been arrested yet. Why?
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was taken into police custody in Hargaon area of Sitapur on Monday morning when she was on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri to meet the families of the deceased farmers.

After a brief brawl with the policemen, Priyanka was taken to the PAC guest house and is still there.
Hundreds of Congress workers are sitting outside the guest house and waiting for their leader to be released.
Priyanka has said that as soon as she is released she will go to Lakhimpur Kheri to meet the bereaved families.
In a related development, a senior official said that the government has taken note of the fact that Priyanka had spoken to some news channels over the phone while she was in custody.
“We are probing the matter and will soon take action against the channels and those responsible for arranging the talks,” the official said.
