Uttarakhand / Vikasnagar : Villagers complained to the BDO about the village head

Villagers of Gram Sabha Jogio accused of not informing the Gram Sabha about the construction works being done in the village. Along with this, a letter has been handed over to the Block Development Officer about the work of the village head being done by the husband.

On Tuesday afternoon, a large number of Gram Sabha Jogios reached the Block Development Office under the leadership of President, Quansi Suryapal Chauhan. The villagers handed over a complaint letter to the Block Development Officer. The villagers raised a strong objection to the attitude and functioning of the village head with a complaint to the Block Development Officer. Villagers said that the village head is working arbitrarily. Said that the ongoing construction works in the Gram Panchayat are being done through finance scheme or are being done through watershed or are being done through MNREGA. This information is not being given to the villagers. Said that the open meeting of the Panchayat to be held in the village was not organized and it was disposed of in a fake manner. Villagers said that Panchayat Secretaries and Village Development Officers do not come to the village. It is alleged that instead of the head, every work is done by the head husband. There is no satisfactory answer on asking for a reply. The villagers have demanded from the Block Development Officer to organize an open meeting of the Panchayat in the village at the earliest. The villagers said that till the open meeting of the Gram Panchayat is not held, no payment should be made for any construction and development work in the village. Taking cognizance of the matter, Block Development Officer Chakrata Anita Panwar directed the concerned Panchayat Secretary and Village Development Officer immediately and ordered an open meeting on November 12. The Block Development Officer assured the villagers to investigate the allegations leveled by the villagers. After which the villagers returned peacefully. The villagers who complained included Suryapal Chauhan, Gyaru, Premdas, Rajendra, Hriday Singh, Shyam Singh, Balveer, Bhagat Singh, Jaipal Singh, Raju, Kunwar Singh, Manoj, Ritesh, Santram, Sultan Singh, Jawahar Singh, etc. On the other hand, village head Sarita Chauhan says that all the work is being done as per rules. Some people are making politically incorrect allegations. Said that the agenda of the meeting comes out online and everything is being done as per rules. Said that they are fully capable of doing the work according to their position. It does not make sense for her husband to interfere in the affairs of the Pradhan. All the allegations are completely false and politically motivated.
