Gold became costlier by Rs 340 per ten grams and silver by Rs 236 per kg in the domestic bullion market today on the strength of foreign markets. Internationally, spot gold rose 0.41 per cent to USD 1761.12 an ounce and US gold futures rose 0.16 per cent to USD 1757.40 an ounce. During this, silver spot also gained 0.06 per cent to bid at $22.57 an ounce.
The effect of the foreign market’s rally was also seen in the country’s largest futures market MCX. During this, gold rose by Rs 340 to Rs 47390 per ten grams and gold mini rose by Rs 315 to Rs 47251 per ten grams. Similarly, silver by Rs 236 to Rs 61968 per kg and silver mini by Rs 235 to Rs 62179 per kg.
