Uttar Pradesh : Rejecting the bailable warrants of UP officials, the Supreme Court said – you deserve this

The Supreme Court has cleared the way for the arrest of UP’s Finance Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue). A bailable warrant was issued against both of them by the Allahabad High Court in the case of partial compliance and delay. This decision was challenged by the UP government in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court dismissed the application saying that these officers are too arrogant and cleared the way for arrest.
One recovery in the Allahabad High Court was the issue of regularization of Amin’s service and payment of salary hike. During the hearing of the same case, the High Court, while commenting against the said officers, had said that these officers were making the court a playground and had refused to give a salary hike to that person.
No relief to the UP government from the Supreme Court
After the High Court order, the officials misled the court. In this case, the Additional Advocate General had given an undertaking in the court, but despite this, the officers did not pay the increased salary and disregarded the undertaking. The UP government filed an application on behalf of its officers and appealed against the decision of the High Court but did not get relief from the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice told the officers- you are worthy
Supreme Court Chief Justice NV Ramana said that ‘You deserve this. The High Court should have ordered the arrest by now and given the harshest punishment. Yet the High Court has shown leniency. You look at your conduct, you have refused to pay an employee’s salary hike and are withholding it. There is no respect for the court in your mind.
The government asked the Supreme Court to be lenient in the matter
The top court said that ‘these officers look arrogant’. Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, on behalf of the UP government officials, said that recovery Amin has been made regular and salary hike is to be paid. Asked the Supreme Court to be lenient in the matter. The Supreme Court said that this is a fit case in which a bailable warrant has been issued.
