The country with a population of 3 million refused to be suppressed in front of China, these countries came to its aid

On the issue of Taiwan, Lithuania, a country with a population of only 3 million, has given a mirror to China. Lithuania, refusing to bow down to China, has done something that the dragon could never have imagined. Actually, this small country has allowed Taiwan to open a representative office. Angered by this, China on Sunday reduced the level of its diplomatic ties with Lithuania. The move is believed to hurt Beijing’s ties with the European Union (EU), as the Baltic country is an influential member of the EU.

Warning of dire consequences
China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that there is only one China in the world and the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing the whole of China. It is regrettable that Lithuania chose to ignore China’s serious stand and disregard the larger interests of bilateral relations and the basic rules of international relations, the statement said. It has given permission to establish a representative office named after Taiwan in Lithuania. In such a situation, the Chinese government has no other option but to lower the level of diplomatic relations with Lithuania and appoint a mission in-charge. The Lithuanian government will have to face the consequences.

China has already called back the envoy
Reducing the level of diplomatic relations in diplomatic parlance meant that the embassy would be headed by a head of mission in the ambassador’s absence. China has already withdrawn its envoy from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. At the same time, Cui Hongjian, director of the Department of European Studies at the China Institute of International Studies, told the Global Times that the lowering of diplomatic status means a serious blow to China-Lithuania diplomatic relations, as the mission in charge does not have the full powers of ambassadors. . This shows that the power of diplomats in both the countries will be very limited and affected. At the same time, experts also believe that EU countries can open a front against China in support of Lithuania.

This fear is haunting the dragon
China made a similar decision to lower the level of diplomatic relations with the Netherlands after the Netherlands allowed the submarine sale to Taiwan on May 5, 1981. Observers say that China feels that Lithuania’s move can inspire the EU and smaller countries to take such steps. Along with this, Beijing warned Taiwan, saying, ‘We also give a stern warning to the Taiwan authorities that Taiwan has never been a country. It doesn’t matter how Taiwan’s independent forces show facts, but the historical fact is that the mainland and Taiwan are one and thus China cannot be changed. Attempts to get foreign support for political manipulation will prove to be dangerous.

Such is the preparation against Beijing
Actually, China claims its claim on Taiwan. He has escalated tensions in recent weeks by sending more than 200 military planes into Taiwan’s airspace. Beijing recalled its ambassador from Vilnius in August and asked Lithuania to recall its ambassador to China as well. On the other hand, Lithuania’s Minister of Economy Austrin Armonet said that his country will sign a $600 million export credit deal with the US Export-Import Bank to counter Beijing’s economic impact. China’s confrontation with Lithuania comes at a sensitive time when Beijing’s relations with the European Union are strained over Brussels’ allegations of human rights violations by the Communist Party in Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Tibet.
