Digvijay, after garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Minto Hall complex here on Wednesday, along with hundreds of party workers, marched towards Sharma’s house singing Ramdhun, but the protesters were stopped halfway by the police. Sharma’s house is about a kilometer away from Minto Hall. During this, Congress workers were carrying banners in their hands, which read, “Rameshwar Sharma ji, we have come, you break our knees.”

Congress leaders had objected to this, after which Digvijay also tweeted on his statement and said, “I am a Congressman. If you have the strength, break my knees. I am a Gandhian. I will answer violence with non-violence. On November 24, I will go to Rameshwar Sharma’s house from the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. I will go to his house and do Ramdhun for an hour to ask the Lord to give him wisdom.

Sharma had given clarification
However, Sharma later clarified that he had made this remark about government land worth Rs 20 crore which was sold by a sarpanch of Kalkheda village. He had also alleged that Digvijay was protecting this sarpanch. After Digvijay’s tweet, Sharma completely painted his house in the color of Ram and from Tuesday itself Ramdhun started playing and Ramcharit Manas was sung. Halwa and puri were arranged for Digvijay and other protesters and all preparations were made to welcome them.

When Digvijay did not reach his house, Sharma told the media, “I will welcome the devotees of Lord Ram. How can he (Digvijay) come to Ramdhun? Throughout his life he (Digvijay) has opposed Ram. Rama’s grace is not on him. Even God does not allow them to come at his feet.

Sonia should not issue fatwa on Ramdhun against Dagvijiya: Narottam
