India-Russia friendship proved by PM Modi’s meeting with Putin
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin met today at Hyderabad House in Delhi. During this, PM Modi said that the relationship between the two countries has strengthened. Russia’s cooperation has been found in the fight against Corona. There is already cooperation in the defense sector and the strategic partnership is getting stronger.

PM said, India-Russia friendship is intact
PM Modi said that many fundamental changes have taken place in the world in the last few decades. Various geopolitical equations have come to the fore, but the friendship between India and Russia persisted. PM Narendra Modi said that the relationship between India and Russia is indeed a unique and credible model of interstate friendship. We have become stronger on the economic front. We have come a long way in the defense sector as well.
He said that despite the challenges posed by COVID, there has been no change in the pace of growth of India-Russia relations. Our special strategic partnership continues to grow stronger.
PM Modi said that we are adopting a long-term vision to take forward our relations in the economic field as well. We have set a target of $30 billion in trade and $50 billion in investment by 2025. The various agreements we have today will help in this. Our defense cooperation is being further strengthened through core development and co-production under the Make in India programme.
Putin said, India is a friend who can stand the test
At the same time, Putin said that we see India as a great power, a friendly nation and a friend who has stood the test of time. Relations between the two countries are growing and I am looking forward to the future.
No other country has an ally like India-Russia
Putin said that Russia has a little more investment coming in, which has brought mutual investment to about 38 billion. We cooperate a lot in the military and technical fields like no other country does. We develop as well as produce high technology in India.
We are concerned about terrorism
The Russian President said that naturally we are concerned about everything that has to do with terrorism. The fight against terrorism is also the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime. We are concerned about the situation in Afghanistan and the situation there.
Cooperation in high technology including energy sector, space
Russian President Putin said that we are allies and working together on very important things which include high technology including energy sector, space. The programs that we have talked about here today will be fully implemented which includes the training of Indian astronauts.
It gives me great pleasure to visit India. Last year the trade between the two countries fell by 17 per cent, but this year in the first nine months trade has seen an increase of 38 per cent.

Foreign Secretary said, 28 agreements agreed
Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said President Putin’s visit is short but extremely productive and important. Excellent conversation between the two leaders. 28 MoUs were signed during this visit.
