Kejriwal said that Omicron spreads very fast. It is very mild and there are hospital admissions and deaths are also very less. Keeping this in mind, we have made our preparations. If it spreads very fast, then according to that we have created capacity to do 3,00,000 tests daily so that if needed, 3 lakh tests can be done in Delhi. He said that 60 to 70000 tests are being done daily, but if there is a need to do 3 lakh tests daily, then we can do it.
Treatment in the comfort of home
CM Kejriwal said that in the last wave that came, 26 to 27 thousand cases were seen daily. This time we have prepared that even if one lakh cases come to the fore every day, then we have prepared accordingly. Because it is mild, so we urge the public that you stay at home and do not run towards the hospital. If there are mild symptoms then we will try to get you treated at your home… in the comfort of your home.
For this, we are making the model of home isolation very strong. As the test results will come and the person will come to know that he is infected, then he will immediately get a phone call from us and he will be told that the Delhi government is now continuously working with you. The next day the medical team will go to his house and give him a kit containing medicines, prescription, oximeter and then talk to him over the phone. Kejriwal said that apart from this, which agency will need to be hired. She will be done within the next 1 to 2 days, I have given orders for this.
Manpower needed
He said that at present our capacity in the government was to handle 1000 cases daily, but we are going to increase it to one lakh cases. Kejriwal further said that if manpower is needed a lot, then necessary manpower is being arranged for this. The stock of medicine is being prepared for 2 months, which will be bought in the next few days. At the same time, there was a shortage of oxygen last time, full arrangements have also been made.
