4 judges of the Supreme Court corona infected, 150 employees of the registry also quarantined

Coronavirus infection is increasing very fast in the country. Its effect has now reached the Supreme Court. 4 judges of the Supreme Court have become corona infected. Since Friday, all the judges of the Supreme Court are working from home. At present, only urgent matters are being heard in the court. This hearing is being done through video conferencing. Corona test of all personnel is being done in the Supreme Court. Along with this, it is also being said that about 150 personnel of the registry are either quarantined or they have become corona infected.
In view of the increasing cases of Corona, Chief Justice of India NV Raman held a meeting with four senior judges on Thursday. It was told that it was decided in this meeting that now the judges will hear the cases from their residence through video conferencing. In the circular issued by the Supreme Court, it was said that from January 7, 2022 (Friday), all cases will be heard through online mode. It was also said that the benches would sit in residential offices.

According to the circular, only urgent ‘mention’ cases, fresh cases, bail matters, stay matters, detention cases and fixed date cases will be listed before the court from January 10 till further orders. On the other hand, more than 400 personnel working in the Parliament House have also been found to be corona infected. On 6 and 7 January, the corona test of the staff and security personnel working in Parliament was done.
