Corona’s ‘game’ before elections in Punjab, 264% patients increased in 24 hours on oxygen support

According to the data released by the State Health Department on Saturday, the number of patients admitted on oxygen support in Punjab has increased by 264 percent in 24 hours. On Friday, a total of 62 patients were on oxygen support in the state. At the same time, on Saturday, this figure increased to 226. In such a situation, before the assembly elections, the corona virus in Punjab is worsening the situation.
According to the data, 23 patients were admitted on oxygen support in Punjab on January 1. On January 1, 332 corona cases were reported in the state. On Friday, 2901 corona cases came in the state. On Saturday, this number increased to 3643. There were 20 patients on Level 3 support on Friday. Their number increased to 55 on Saturday. This is a jump of 175 per cent. At the same time, a total of 11 patients were admitted on ventilator in the same period, which was 6 on Friday. On January 1, none of the patients were on ventilator. Although 18 patients were on Level 3 support.
At the same time, all educational institutions including schools, colleges, coaching centers in Chandigarh have been closed. According to the order issued by the administration, all educational institutions have been ordered to conduct academic and teaching activities in online mode.
The positivity rate in Punjab had also increased to 14.64 percent on Saturday. It was 11.75 per cent on Friday. On January 1, the positivity rate in the state was 2.02 percent. In Punjab, the maximum number of corona cases are coming out in four districts. These include 840 cases in Patiala, 563 cases in Mohali, 561 cases in Ludhiana and 346 cases in Amritsar.
