Uttar Pradesh: Arrest warrant issued against Swami Prasad Maurya, resigned from the post of minister in Yogi government yesterday

Special magistrate MP-MLA/ACJM II Yogesh Yadav has ordered to issue a non-bailable warrant against former cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya on Wednesday for making objectionable remarks against deities. The court has given this order after the former minister did not appear in the court. The next hearing in the matter will be on January 24.
Advocate Anil Tiwari, resident of Judapatti village of Dhanpatganj block, had filed a lawsuit in the court against former cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya for making objectionable remarks against deities. After recording the statement of the complainant and other witnesses, the court had summoned Swami Prasad Maurya for trial.
The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him for not appearing in the court. This was challenged by Swami Prasad Maurya in the High Court by filing a petition. The High Court had stayed the proceedings in the year 2016. On January 6, the MP-MLA court had fixed January 12, while ordering the former minister to appear.
In the same case, former minister Swami Prasad Maurya did not appear in the court on Wednesday. Special Magistrate MP-MLA/ACJM II Yogesh Yadav has ordered to issue a non-bailable warrant against former minister Swami Prasad Maurya. The next hearing in the matter will be on January 24.
