Uttarakhand : From which seat everyone will vote, BJP upset!

Cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat’s search for a new assembly seat has once again created a stir in the BJP. First Lansdowne MLA Dilip Rawat opened a front against him and now former Kedarnath MLA Shailrani Rawat has also warned the party. Harak Singh Rawat wants to contest from any other seat this time instead of his Kotdwar assembly seat. For this, he has put the options of three seats in front of the party. He is also seeking ticket from Lansdowne for his daughter-in-law. On Thursday, BJP’s state election in-charge and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi called Harak Singh Rawat and held a long conversation in a closed room. In a conversation that lasted for about an hour, Rawat conveyed his wish to the election in-charge. Later, the election in-charge also spoke to another cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal. Thursday was a bustling day for the BJP. In the afternoon, BJP’s Lansdowne MLA Mahant Dilip Rawat reached the party headquarters and met other party leaders including State General Secretary Organization Ajey, State General Secretary Rajendra Bhandari and Kuldeep Kumar. In fact, there was a lot of discussion in the internet media on Wednesday that Dilip Rawat is in touch with Congress leaders in Delhi and he may leave the BJP.

In a conversation with Jagran late on Wednesday evening, he clarified that he is in Dehradun, not Delhi and is not going to any other party. He came to the BJP headquarters on Thursday to prove the ongoing discussions about himself as baseless. Talking to reporters, MLA Dilip Rawat said that the opponents are spreading such propaganda against him. He said that he is a Hindutva and the BJP patronizes it. He is a true soldier of BJP. The question of thinking of any other party does not arise. On Thursday, the sharp attitude of former Kedarnath MLA Shailrani Rawat also came to the fore. Shailarani Rawat, who reached the state BJP office, said that she is dedicated to the development of her area. Influenced by the development thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she joined the BJP. Also added that the time to come will tell what decision we will take in the next 10 days. On the question of former minister Harak Singh Rawat expressing his desire to contest from Kedarnath, he said that Harak Singh can contest from anywhere. There are already eligible candidates in Kedarnath. It is noteworthy that Harak Singh Rawat and Shailrani Rawat were among the nine MLAs who left the Congress and joined the BJP in March 2016.

On the other hand, in response to this, Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat said that he is neither Pakistani nor has come from China. He is a citizen of the country. There should not be such narrow thinking. He enumerated the works done during the Kedarnath disaster and also gave details of the works done in Lansdowne, Kotdwar and Rudraprayag assembly constituencies.

At around two o’clock in the afternoon, BJP’s state election in-charge Pralhad Joshi sent a call to two cabinet ministers Harak Singh Rawat and Subodh Uniyal. Both the ministers reached a guest house located in Dalanwala to meet the election in-charge. The election in-charge talked to both of them separately. According to sources, Harak Singh Rawat talked about making his daughter-in-law Anukreethy Gusain a candidate from Lansdowne (Pauri Garhwal) seat. Apart from this, he himself expressed his desire to contest from Kedarnath (Rudraprayag), Yamkeshwar (Pauri Garhwal) or Doiwala (Dehradun) seats. After this, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal also spoke to Pralhad Joshi in a closed room for about half an hour.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat says that state election in-charge Pralhad Joshi had called me to discuss the election scenario. Talked to him about the assembly seats of the state, especially the Garhwal mandal, how the party can do better in the elections. I also put some other things in front of the election in-charge. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal says that my conversation with the state election in-charge was focused only on the preparation and strategy for the elections. There was no discussion about my assembly seat Narendra Nagar during this period. Meeting the election in-charge at the time of elections is a normal thing. Lansdowne MLA Dilip Rawat says that whatever responsibility the party gives, I will fulfill it completely. Twice the party gave me an opportunity to become an MLA. I hope the party leadership will provide an opportunity for the third time also. Former Kedarnath MLA Shaila Rani Rawat says that I had left the assembly membership in 2016 a year ago. The government and the party will do justice to me. We have nurtured and decorated the Kedarnath assembly constituency. There are deserving candidates and women should get tickets. I will not rebel. Circumstances, public and workers will tell what will be the time to come.
