Uttar Pradesh / Prayagraj : Dead body thrown in well after killing BA student, fear of gang rape, 11 including lover in custody

In a horrific incident in Baghada, Colonelganj, an 18-year-old BA student was murdered and the body was thrown into the well. She had disappeared under suspicious circumstances three days ago. After which the police registered a case of kidnapping on the complaint of the family members and started searching.

Based on the information received during interrogation of the lover, the police took into custody about 10 suspects living nearby. Then on the basis of the information received from them, the body was recovered after a five-hour search operation on Monday night in the forest located in Sadiaabad.

The reason for the murder is not clear but preliminary investigation has revealed that the girl had gone to meet her lover and during this time four youths who reached there targeted her. There is also a possibility of gang rape, but police officers say that only after the post-mortem, something can be said clearly.

Was missing since the night of 22 January
The 18-year-old girl, originally from Saraimamrej, was pursuing her second year BA at Ishwar Sharan College. She used to stay in the Girls Hostel located in Baghada. She left the hostel on the night of 22 January at 8.30 pm, asking to go to get medicine and did not return.

His phone was also switched off. His room partner informed his family about this by phone around 12 am on January 23. After searching for a day, nothing was found, but in the evening the family members lodged a missing complaint at the Colonelganj police station.

Saved his life, ran away leaving the girl student
When the police reached the girls hostel and investigated, it came to know that she used to have a conversation with Aman Singh, a resident of Azamgarh, who was preparing while staying in Salori and she had gone to meet him on the night of 22. On raising the suspicion of the family, the police took Aman into custody in the night itself after improving the case under the sections of kidnapping.

During rigorous interrogation, he told that on the day of the incident, he had gone to a secluded place near Sadiabad to meet the girl student. During this, three or four people came there and started beating both of them mercilessly. Somehow, after getting a chance, he escaped after saving his life, but during this the student was caught by the assailants.

After this, the police started interrogation on Monday morning by taking 11 drug addicts living around Sadiabad in custody. On the basis of the information received from them, the search operation was started in the forest located near Sadiabad at around 6 pm.

After about an hour, the girl’s body was seen in a dry well located inside the forest. The well was 80 feet deep and was filled with gas. In such a situation, it took five hours to get the body out. The body was sent for post-mortem around 12 pm.

Bag recovered from the well
Police said that her bag was also found lying in the well from where the body of the girl was recovered. It is believed that the killers had thrown the student’s bag in the well along with the dead body. The relatives identified the body of the girl student from the name and clothes written in the copies found in the bag.

It is not clear at this time how the murder took place. Serious injury marks were found on the girl’s head. Police said that it cannot be said yet whether the blow to the head was caused by a blow to the head or whether he died due to a fall from a height. The cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem.
There is also the possibility of gang rape
Looking at the circumstantial evidence, it is feared that the girl was also gang-raped. In fact, sources say that the lover has told the police during interrogation that those who attacked him seemed to be intoxicated. He had escaped after saving his life but his friend could not escape.

About 200 meters away from the place where the lover has told about the quarrel, the girl’s body was found in a well located inside the forest. In such a situation, it is feared that the attackers dragged her to the forest and then murdered her after the gang rape.
