Ahmedabad’s IPL team named Gujarat Titans, Hardik captain, Ashish Nehra appointed coach

The name of the team of Ahmedabad in IPL will be Gujarat Titans. Team franchise CVC Capital has announced this ahead of the players’ mega auction to be held on February 12 and 13. The coach of the team will be Ashish Nehra. At the same time, Captain Hardik Pandya has been made.
The team has already roped in Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and veteran Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan for Rs 15 crore each, while young opener Shubman Gill has been roped in for Rs 8 crore. The team from Ahmedabad has been bought by CVC Catital Group at a bid of Rs 5625 crore.
Pandya being a Gujarati will benefit the team in branding
Hardik Pandya has been playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL till now, but this time Mumbai franchise has not retained him. Experts believe that Pandya is from Gujarat and to capitalize on his popularity among the local fans, the franchise has made him the captain. The franchise hopes that even if Pandya does not bowl, it will prove to be a profitable deal for the team in terms of branding.
Team name chosen
Team co-owner Siddharth Patel has shared the details of the naming process with Star Sports. He told that we did a lot of research about the name Gujarat Titans. We hired an agency for this. It was our endeavor that we could present the image of the whole of Gujarat.
Team captain Hardik said that my family is from Gujarat, all the people live in Gujarat. When everyone came to know that I am captaining the team belonging to Gujarat, they felt proud.
