India vs New Zealand warm-up match called off without a ball being bowled due to rain

The last warm-up match of the T20 World Cup 2022 was to be held between India and New Zealand at the Gabba in Brisbane today, but due to intermittent rain in Brisbane since this morning, it has now been decided to cancel the match. At the same time, now the India vs New Zealand match has also been cancelled. The ICC has confirmed that the match has been cancelled. India defeated hosts Australia by 6 runs in their first warm-up match.

Earlier, the BCCI had released the cut-off time for the 5-5 over match, which was 8:46 pm local time, but included 4:16 pm Indian time. Today in Brisbane this match was to start at 1.30 pm and the toss was to be held at 1 pm, but it could not happen due to rain. According to Australia’s time, the match was to start at 6 pm, but the rain is not taking its name to stop.

The Indian team will now play its first match in the Super-12 against Pakistan on 23 October in Melbourne, while the New Zealand team will start their campaign in the tournament with the match against defending champions Australia on 22 October.
