Uttarakhand : 4 ministers in Dhami cabinet belong to Congress gotra

In the Pushkar Singh Dhami government this time, the ministers of the Congress gotra also dominate. Of the total eight ministers, four are from Congress background. Whereas in the 2017 BJP government, the number of ministers from Congress background was five. After CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, the first number two minister Satpal Maharaj is also from Congress background.

He has been the Union Minister of State for Finance and Railways in the past from the quota of Tiwari Congress. After the formation of the state, he has been the vice-chairman of the Twenty Point Program Implementation Committee in the ND Tiwari government. He was the tourism minister in the 2017 Trivandrum government. Apart from this, the cabinet ministers in the Dhami government, Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, Saurabh Bahuguna are also from Congress background.

Although Saurabh Bahuguna was not active in the Congress. But his father Vijay Bahuguna became the Chief Minister in 2012 while in Congress. He was the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission in the ND Tiwari government. In 2016, he left the Congress and joined the BJP. In 2017, Satpal Maharaj, Yashpal Arya, Harak Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya were ministers from Congress background.
