China builds military base on Solomon Islands, America’s growing concern

China is rapidly increasing its military strength in other countries of the world including Asia. Recently, information about the construction of a military base of China in Solomon, a small island country in the Pacific Ocean, came to light. This has increased the concern of America, Australia and New Zealand.

A Guadal Canal originating from the Solomon Islands reaches New Zealand through the Pacific Ocean via Australia. This is the reason why America and Britain have announced to give nuclear submarines to Australia. On 27 April, an Australian minister expressed the possibility of China sending Chinese troops to the Solomons.

China has built a military base on the Solomon Islands under full planning. The population of Solomon Islands is 6.87 lakhs. China officially has a military base in Djibouti in Africa. It was built in 2017 as a naval facility. China claims that it is doing this to enhance peace and stability and trade in the Solomon Islands.

China occupied 90 ports
The possibility cannot be ruled out that China, under the guise of its global interests, seeks to challenge the military dominance of Asia and the United States. At present, China occupies more than 90 ports of the world. Which it uses for lodging and trading of ships, but China can use it as a military base.
