The court asked the Center – how long will it take for the reconsideration of the Act?
During the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court asked the Center that how much time will the review process take? On this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on behalf of the Center said that I am not able to give a precise answer to this question. He told the court that the review process has started. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta also said that keeping in mind the unity and integrity of the country, the Center has decided to reconsider the sedition law. However, the provision of punishment will not be removed from this, because no one can say that those who work against the country should not be punished.
