SP leader Azam Khan gets bail from Allahabad High Court in land grab case

Samajwadi Party’s strongman Azam Khan has got bail from the Allahabad High Court in the case of land grab. A single bench of Justice Rahul Chaturvedi gave this decision. After the completion of the hearing, a single bench of Justice Rahul Chaturvedi had reserved the decision on May 5. A case was registered against Azam for wrongly getting the Waqf Board land in his favor. Journalist Allama Jamir Naqvi had filed this case in August 2019 in Lucknow. Later the case was transferred to Azim Nagar police station in Rampur. In this case, the decision was secured on December 4, 2021, but the state government had filed an application seeking to present some new facts, after which the court started hearing the case again.

Let us inform that 88 cases have been registered against Azam Khan, including today’s case, his bail has been approved in 87 cases. Recently, a case has been registered in the case of taking recognition of three schools with fake papers. Warrant has been served on Azam Khan, who is lodged in Sitapur Jail, due to this trial he will not be able to be released from jail at present.
It is worth mentioning that in the year 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Azam had won from Rampur parliamentary seat, he also contested the assembly elections in the same year while in jail and won. After winning the assembly elections, he resigned from the membership of the Lok Sabha seat. Azam is counted among the prominent Muslim leaders of the Samajwadi Party. After the BJP came to power in UP, illegal possession of land and other cases have been registered against them.
