According to its report, the number of government schools was 10,83,678 in the year 2018-19, which has come down to 10,32,570 in the year 2019-20. About 51 thousand government schools have been closed during this period.

Most government schools closed in this state –

According to the UDISE report, the maximum number of government schools have been closed in the state of Uttar Pradesh. In UP, where the number of government schools was 1,63,142 in September 2018, this number decreased to 1,370,68 in September 2020.

Number of private schools increased in these states –

According to the UDISE report, Bihar and Bengal emerged as the two states that saw an increase in the number of private schools in the past. More private schools have opened in these states than before.
