Big blow to KKR, Brendon McCullum to leave Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR head coach Brendon McCullum has made up his mind to leave his post after IPL 2022. According to the news received from the sources, after this season he will leave the side of KKR. Earlier the news has also come that he is now going to become the coach of the Test team of England. Recently, the England team has made Ben Stokes the captain of the England team.
Brendon McCullum has informed the KKR management that he will no longer be a part of the IPL franchise after the end of this season. Under the coaching of Brendon McCullum, KKR’s team could not do much and after winning the first three matches, the team had to face defeat in five consecutive matches. The team that played the final of IPL last season cannot score more than 14 points this time. So far, Kolkata has won only five matches under McCullum’s coaching.
According to the news received, he has also agreed to become the coach of the England team, but this has not been officially announced yet. Even before this, if this deal is finalized, if the KKR coach had been the coach of the England team, then McCullum will be the second Kolkata coach who will work for the ECB. Prior to this, Trevor Bayliss was also the coach of Kolkata, who later coached the English team.
It is believed that there will now be a separate coach for the England team for ODIs and T20s, while Brendon McCullum will be attached to the team for red ball cricket.
