Jammu and Kashmir: Fire breaks out in bus carrying pilgrims in Katra, 4 killed, investigation underway on terrorist angle.

An incident of fire in a bus carrying pilgrims has come to light in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. 4 people have died due to the fire. According to the information received, a local bus number JK 14- going from Katra to Jammu-  In 1831, a fire broke out near Kharmal, about 1.5 km from Katra. The terrorists were not involved in this, so the matter is also being investigated on the terrorist angle.

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has announced compensation for this incident.  He said that Rs 5 lakh each will be given to the families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate bus accident in Katra.  While the seriously injured will be given an assistance of one lakh rupees.

According to preliminary information, the fire started from the engine area in the bus, the fire soon engulfed the entire bus.  In this incident, 2 persons died on the spot and 22 injured were sent to Katra for treatment.  Out of which 3 have been referred to Jammu for special treatment if their condition is more serious.
