Quad leaders in danger in Tokyo! Japan is putting 18 thousand soldiers in security
On May 24, the Quad leaders are meeting in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. India’s PM Narendra Modi, Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida and US President Joe Biden are participating in this meeting. There are general elections in Australia on 21 May so it is not clear who will participate in the Quad Summit on behalf of Australia. Meanwhile, Tokyo Police has said that about 18,000 police officers will be deployed in Tokyo for tight security of the Quad leaders.
Quad leaders feared of attack?
A Japan Times report suggests that traffic restrictions will be imposed on Tokyo’s Metropolitan Expressway for three days from May 22. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department fears an increased risk of attacks and disruptions in a tense international environment amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In such a situation, the Tokyo Police will also deploy riot police and security teams to respond to the drone.
Tokyo Police is also alert about the station and airport
On May 19, the Special Riot Unit of the Tokyo Police inspects a street near the US Embassy. Tokyo police are also tightening measures against attacks on ‘soft targets’ that are usually less secure than government or military facilities but can have large crowds. Such as the residences of the leaders, Tokyo Station and Tokyo Airport.
There are also reports in the Japanese media that leaders are at risk of attacks, interference in meetings, and cyberattacks, although Live Hindustan does not confirm these reports.
