Uttar Pradesh / Moradabad : Six arrested after raiding illegal arms factory, reward of one lakh to police team
On Friday, the Mughalpura police station, busting the illegal arms factory operating in the ‘Operation Patal’ Barwalan area, arrested six people, including the kingpin. Five ready made pistols, 4 half-made, 64 cartridges and Maruti van were recovered from the arrested people. On enquiry, the arrested persons admitted to supplying on-demand firearms. The police is busy in locating the entire network.
Talking to reporters in the police line, SSP Hemant Kutiyal said that the entire action was taken under the Operation Patal campaign run by the government in the illegal arms manufacturing factory, Mehmood resident Faridpur Haji, Thana Dilari, Mikki resident Barik Dilari, Nawab resident Gulab Bari. Police station Katghar, Ilyas resident Peerzada police station Katghar, Saim resident Asalatpura police station Galshaheed, Rohtash resident Khanpur, police station Mundhapande have been arrested.
The SSP said that seven cases are registered against Mahmud, eighteen against Nawab and nine against Ilyas in different police station areas. On late Thursday night, on information, the police raided Khandar in Barwalan. During this, everyone got success in catching them. Firing has also gone on the police team that went to capture. Illegal weapons making equipment were also recovered from the spot. The government has announced a reward of one lakh rupees to the police team for catching an illegal arms factory.
The whereabouts kept changing due to the fear of the police: During interrogation, the accused told that we all work together to make firearms. We have made all these tampas in one day only. They do this work by changing different places due to fear of police. The raw material of the firearm is brought from the caught car. Firearms are made in maximum quantity and taken to sell from this vehicle. Inquiries have also come to light that the accused Ilyas resident Pirzada police station Katghar, Moradabad manufactures 315 bore cartridges from brass rods, local gunpowder etc. After which the accused Rohtash along with his associates supply firearms and cartridges to the needy people. Continuous action is being taken against the gang manufacturing illegal arms and cartridges under “Operation Patal” in district Moradabad.
18 cases registered against the kingpin: 18 cases are registered against the kingpin of the gang selling illegal arms in various police stations. Seven cases are registered against gang member Mehmood, three against Rohitash, nine against Ilyas.
