Delhi : BJP started preparations for by-elections, many big leaders are claiming ticket
For the by-election in Delhi’s Rajinder Nagar assembly constituency, vigorous lobbying has started in the BJP regarding the ticket. After being elected to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab, AAP’s Raghav Chadha resigned from the Delhi Assembly by-polls. Voting will be held on June 23 and counting of votes will take place on June 26.
The names of several BJP leaders are included in the list for the ticket, including state unit president Adesh Gupta, former MLA of the constituency and party’s national spokesperson Sardar RP Singh, Delhi BJP vice-president Rajan Tiwari, former state unit general secretary Rajesh Bhatia, spokesperson. Harish Khurana and others.
A senior Delhi BJP functionary said that we have many strong candidates and the strongest candidate will be given ticket to contest from Rajinder Nagar assembly elections. Winning will be the only criterion of ticket.
BJP had already started preparations
The BJP had started preparations for the by-election with a roadshow of BJP President JP Nadda on its foundation day on 6 April. Party workers campaigned from door to door under the leadership of Assembly in-charge Ajay Mahawar. BJP workers are also holding corner meetings of five-seven people with tea and informing them about the agenda and vision for the development of Delhi and Rajinder Nagar.
A party leader said that we have planned to reach every voter thrice before announcing the candidate. Last month, the BJP appointed its MLA Mahawar as the in-charge of the assembly for the by-election and in-charge of the municipal wards falling in the assembly constituency.
