Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist caught in Bengaluru, fled from Jammu and Kashmir with wife and children

  1. The Jammu and Kashmir Police and Bengaluru City Police on Sunday arrested a suspected terrorist, who is allegedly a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander. The security forces disclosed this on Tuesday. According to Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra’s office, the arrested person has been identified as Talib Hussain and was arrested in connection with the targeted killing of Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to police sources, Talib Hussain along with his wife and children had fled from Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces had intensified the search for him. He was hiding in Bangalore. Talib had reportedly taken shelter in a mosque in Srirampura here and used to give religious sermons during Friday prayers.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has confirmed the arrest of Talib Hussain from Bengaluru. Answering questions from reporters, Bommai said, “Yes, the suspected terrorist has been arrested.” “Normally the police keep a watch on people like him. Whatever assistance is required to the J&K Police, we will provide it. Earlier also such arrests were made in Sirsi and Bhatkal,” he said. “The Jammu and Kashmir Police has taken this matter very seriously,” Bommai said.
