Naseeruddin Shah told the story of ‘The Kashmir Files’ false, Vivek Agnihotri gave this answer

Director Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files was released on 11 March 2022. The film got a good response from the critics to the audience. The film depicted the story of exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in the 90s. In this, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar were seen in important roles. Recently, actor Naseeruddin Shah took a dig at The Kashmir Files and called its story false.
Naseeruddin Shah recently criticized ‘The Kashmir Files’ in a debate on a TV channel. He described the pain and suffering suffered by Kashmiri Pandits in the film as a fictional version. He also said that instead of ensuring the safety and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus, the government is promoting it.
Vivek Agnihotri agreed with Naseeruddin Shah and wrote- ‘You are really abused and punished for talking about Kashmiri Hindu genocide in your own country.’

Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was made on a small budget. The film earned around 246 crores. It was shown on more than 630 screens across the country. Artists like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Bhasha Sumbali, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Prakash Belavadi, Atul Srivastava were seen in the film. The film is jointly produced by Zee Studios, Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri.
After the success of ‘The Kashmir Files’, Vivek Agnihotri also announced his next film ‘The Delhi Files’ on social media. He wrote- “I thank everyone for #TheKashmirFiles. We have built this with full sincerity and hard work in the last 4 years. I may have spammed your TL but it is necessary to make people aware about the genocide and injustice done to Kashmiri Hindus. It’s time for me to work on a new film. #Delhi Files.”
