The sun, which is throwing solar particles with a speed of 16 lakh kilometres per hour, is not the same as it was understood so far – new discovery
Sun is a celestial body full of mystery. We Earthlings are 150 million kilometers away from the Sun and we see only a limited part of this star. The surface of the sun produces scorching heat and it is constantly throwing out particles that are released from its surface at a speed of one million miles per hour. It is not surprising that we come to know something new about the Sun every day, because scientists still have limited information about it. Now, astrophysicists have settled a decade-long dispute between the Sun’s internal structure determined by solar vibration (helioseismology) and the structure derived from a fundamental theory of stellar evolution. It is based on the current chemical composition of the Sun.
For example, the Sun has more oxygen, silicon and neon than previously estimated. Apart from this, the technique used to measure it gives a more accurate estimate of its chemical composition.
The method used for this has been spectral analysis. It converts light into waves of different lengths. Its black lines can be seen in the spectra of stars where there are special chemical components. According to experts, the Sun and other stars like it are made of hydrogen and helium. To test this Standard Model, atmospheric observations were made in 2009.
The helioseismic model states that the zone of energy transfer from high temperature to low temperature inside the sun, where matter actively mixes and transfers energy from the inner layer to the outer layer, is that The zone is much larger than the Standard Model.
Ekaterina Magg, Maria Bergemann and their colleagues have found a solution to this problem after re-testing the models on which the spectral estimation of the chemical composition of the sun is based. He lists all the chemical elements that appear to be associated with modern stellar development.
Magg says that according to his discovery there are 26 percent more elements in the sun that are heavier than helium. According to the new discovery, the value of oxygen, which has been told in the old studies, is 15 percent more. Accordingly, the chemical composition of the sun is very different from what has been understood till now. And, the chemical components that have been understood till now are also in greater quantity and are different than the old models.
