Uttarakhand / Dehradun : DM took action on misleading news of petrol and diesel, case filed against 6 news portals

Action has been taken by the District Magistrate on the charge of spreading misleading news about huge shortage of products like petrol and diesel. Orders have been given to register a case against 6 news portals in the matter. District Supply Officer (DSO) Jaswant Kandari has been given the responsibility of registering an FIR against the accused persons. While talking to ETV India, DSO said that at present the formality of registering the case is going on. After which further action will be ensured.

Let us inform that during the last one week, there has been panic at many petrol pumps due to the publication in social media and news portals about the huge shortage of products like petrol and diesel at petrol pumps in other parts including Dehradun district. Long lines are being seen outside the pumps. Not only this, people are busy in filling the tanks of two wheelers and four wheelers after seeing the news of shortage of petrol.

Whereas, there is no official confirmation on the shortage of substances like petrol. Even after this, some news portals are spreading rumors on social media. In such a situation, finally Dehradun District Officer Dr R Rajesh Kumar has taken action on 6 news portals spreading misleading news among the public. In this case, he has ordered to register a case against 6 news portals.
