Jammu and Kashmir : Four Hizbul terrorists eliminated in Kulgam
Four terrorists, including the killer of female teacher Rajni Bala, were killed in two separate encounters on Thursday in Kulgam and Anantnag of South Kashmir. Along with this, a terrorist involved in the murder of the sarpanch and panch couple has also been killed. The teacher’s killer has been successful in killing after a three-day siege. All the killed terrorists belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen, from whom weapons have been recovered. So far this year, 109 terrorists have been killed.
Encounter started again on Wednesday morning
The encounter started in Kulgam’s Mishipora on Tuesday. After a brief encounter, there was silence throughout the night. The encounter started again on Wednesday morning. After a while the firing from the other side stopped. Thereafter no firing took place till late evening. It is said that during this time the terrorists had entered the populated area by changing the location.
Terrorists involved in the murder of teacher Rajni Bala killed
However, the security forces had cordoned off the entire area. Contact was established with the terrorists on the third day on Thursday afternoon. During this, it was successful in killing two terrorists in the encounter. Police said that one of the slain terrorists was Zubair Sofi of Mohanpora in Kulgam who was involved in the incident of killing teacher Rajni Bala by entering the high school Gopalpora on May 31. The identity of the second terrorist is yet to be ascertained.
Terrorists surrounded in Anantnag did not surrender
At the same time, a search operation was launched on the information of the presence of terrorists in Hangalgund area of Anantnag district. During this, seeing the cordon tightening, the terrorists started firing on the security forces. While exercising restraint, the terrorists repeatedly asked the terrorists to surrender, but they continued to fire.
Terrorist was involved in the murder of BJP sarpanch and his wife
Ultimately, two terrorists were killed in the action of the security forces. According to the police, both have been identified as Junaid Bhat and Basit Wani. Basit was involved in the murder of BJP Sarpanch Ghulam Rasool Dar and his Panch wife in Anantnag on 9 August 2021.
