The incident took place on Monday when MLA Srinivas visited the college and the principal of the college, Naganand, allegedly did not give any correct information to the MLA on the development works of the college. As a result, MLA M Srinivas, annoyed by the principal’s behavior, publicly slapped the principal. The MLA raised his hand on the principal several times. Employees union came out in support of the principal
Regarding the incident, Shambhu Gowda, president of the employees union Mandya district, said on Tuesday that the matter would be brought to the notice of the district commissioner. Gowda called an emergency meeting of the association and inquired about the attack on the principal. He also met Principal Nagananda and took details of the incident and assured him of full support.
