Uttar Pradesh : Sued for supporting Nupur Sharma, police took action against the provincial president of Hindu Seva Samiti

Pradeep Sharma, the founder and provincial president of Hindu Seva Samiti, resident of Naurangabad in Etawah district, supported Nupur Sharma, the then national spokesperson of BJP, in a press conference on May 30. In this case, the Kotwali police had sent a notice to him. Police has registered a case against Pradeep Sharma under sections 153A (attempt to spread hatred) and 295A (insulting any class).

Pradeep says that we are citizens of India and have full faith in the law and order system mentioned in the constitution. We have not used any kind of language which has insulted any caste and religion. Despite this, I was given a notice of 149 on 13th June and banned for six months on 15th June in 107/116. A case has been registered in 153A and 295A on 17th June.
