Uttarakhand / Pithoragarh : Driving vehicles by minors will be expensive, parents will have to spend jail with heavy fines

Pithoragarh Police has now started taking strict action in the case of minors driving four wheelers, two wheelers. Vehicle accidents were happening every day due to the driving of minors. So the vehicle of these minors was also having an accident with the passers-by. Now, taking strict steps, the police has a provision of three months’ imprisonment for the guardian along with challaning 25 thousand of his guardian for driving the minor’s vehicle, under which action is being taken here.

Parents will have to spend jail with fine
The police is actively running a checking campaign. Right now the campaign is running for one week. It can be continued further if needed. This campaign of the police has also raised the hope of getting relief to the common man. Superintendent of Police Lokeshwar Singh told that complaints were being made by the public about minors in Pithoragarh for a long time. Taking action under this, a week-long special campaign is being run by Pithoragarh Police against such riders from June 22.

Action will be taken under MV Act
Under this, if any minor rider is found, then action will be taken against them under section 199 of the MV Act. Under this section, a fine of up to 25 thousand will be taken and at the same time the guardians and the owner of the vehicle can also be punished for three months. Along with this, if you also have a minor child in your house and he is driving a four wheeler, two wheeler vehicle on the road, then you should stop him immediately or else big action can be taken against you too.
