My statement was twisted and edited and shared, Nupur Sharma came forward to clarify on the Prophet controversy
Suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma was reprimanded by the Supreme Court on July 1. The Supreme Court, while hearing a petition by Nupur Sharma, said that she should apologize to the whole country. Nupur Sharma’s clarification has come on this. Nupur Sharma, breaking her silence on this matter, said that my statement was presented in a twisted manner. Fake news was spread against me.
Nupur Sharma said in her clarification, “The statement I made on Prophet Mohammad during a TV debate was distorted and edited by anti-social elements and shared on different social media platforms. After which I and my family are being threatened with death.
Nupur Sharma has said, “My family is getting threats of rape and slitting. Because of this my life and my family’s life is in danger. Whatever controversy happened across the country was not because of my statement, but because of anti-social elements tampering with my statement and making it viral. Because of which FIRs have been registered against me across the country.
Nupur Sharma further said, “Instead of doing anything on the threats I am receiving, cases are being filed against me in different states. An attempt is being made to suppress my voice with this type of FIR. And attempts are being made to take away the right of speech given to me by the Constitution.
Nupur Sharma says, “I had also issued an apology on my statement. In which it was clearly said that if anyone’s sentiments have been hurt by my statement, then I take back my words. It was not my intention to hurt the religious sentiments of anyone.” The suspended leader from BJP said that whatever cases, sections are registered against me, all are wrong. They should be dismissed by the court.
Let us inform that earlier on July 1, Nupur Sharma had filed a petition in the Supreme Court saying that I am getting threats, my life is in danger. In such a situation, the cases registered against me in different states should be transferred to Delhi. However, the Supreme Court dismissed his petition and asked him to go to the High Court.
