Maharashtra : Shinde’s government gave another blow to Uddhav Thackeray, canceled the contract worth 5000 crores

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government fell after the Shiv Sena revolt and Eknath Shinde became the chief minister. The BJP, which supported Shinde, also joined the government and Devendra Fadnavis became the deputy chief minister. The new government is giving one blow to the Mahavikas Aghadi, who lost power after completing two and a half years of tenure. The Shinde-Fadnavis government has canceled another decision taken by the Uddhav government.

Maharashtra Water Conservation Corporation works under the Water Conservation Department. The pending liabilities of ongoing projects stood at Rs 3,490 crore. Despite this, between April 1 and May 31, 2022, 4,324 new schemes worth Rs 6,191 crore were approved. Out of this, 4,037 works costing Rs 5,020 crore 74 lakh are under tender at various levels.

The new government has decided to cancel 4,037 works worth Rs 5,020.74 crore at various stages of the tender process. The government has said in the order that tenders should not be finalized for any of these works. In the order of the Water Conservation Department, it has been said that no work should be started because the tender process has been completed.

Earlier, the new government had decided to shift the metro car shed to Aarey instead of Kanjur Marg. Also, work of Nanded District Planning Committee worth Rs 567.8 crore was postponed. After this, the new government has reversed another decision, which is being considered as a setback on the front of great development.
