Uttar Pradesh : Shivpal Yadav and allies arrived at CM Yogi’s banquet, will vote in favor of Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu
Amid growing dissatisfaction among the opposition parties towards Uttar Pradesh’s main opposition Samajwadi Party, party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav and coalition ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Om Prakash Rajbhar have contested the BJP-led NDA for the presidential election. Has given its support to its candidate Draupadi Murmu. The presidential election is to be held on July 18. This decision of Akhilesh’s aides has come when both the leaders had attended a dinner called by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to welcome Draupadi Murmu on Friday night.
When asked a question in this regard, Shivpal Singh Yadav told news agency ANI, “Neither the Samajwadi Party had called me, nor asked for my vote. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji called me yesterday, where I was NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi. Murmu and after that decided to vote in his support.”
Let us tell you that both Shivpal Yadav and Om Prakash Rajbhar were not invited by Akhilesh Yadav for a meeting with the joint opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha on Thursday. Then Rajbhar had said that he is “still with Samajwadi Party” but if Akhilesh Yadav does not want then he will not be forced.
Shivpal Singh Yadav lashed out at Akhilesh for not being invited to party meetings and said it was his “immaturity” that many party colleagues were shunning away. He said, “If Akhilesh Yadav had followed my suggestions, the situation of the Samajwadi Party in UP would have been completely different. Many of the party’s allies are now leaving him and behind this is the immaturity of the party president.”
Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party- Lohia President Shivpal Singh Yadav is currently the MLA from Jaswant Nagar, he contested the assembly elections on the election symbol of Akhilesh’s party. After relations with Akhilesh soured, he formed his own party, but before the assembly elections, the two had resolved their estrangement. He has also criticized the behavior of Azam Khan in the party. Azam Khan’s supporters allege that he is being ignored in the party.
At the same time, Om Prakash Rajbhar’s party has six MLAs in the state assembly. After the defeat of the Samajwadi Party in the Lok Sabha by-elections, Rajbhar had launched a scathing attack on him last month. He had said, “Can he tell a single election that he fought on his own?” He also said that Akhilesh Yadav became the chief minister in 2012 simply because of the “generosity” of his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Sources also told that the president of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik Raghuraj Pratap Singh ‘Raja Bhaiya’ and the only MLA of Bahujan Samaj Party in UP Singh Umashankar Singh were also seen at Yogi CM’s banquet last night.
